David Williams and I had the pleasure of meeting some remarkable people at the Leadership Team meeting tonight at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. If you don't know what they, do you will be amazed.
They provide "a home away from home" for families with sick children. They offer private bedrooms, community spaces, home cooked meals and lots of support from staff, volunteers and other families. All this allows families to focus on whats important - their sick child. Research has shown that children in hospitals heal faster and deal with things better if their family is right their with them. The Ronald McDonald House allows this to happen.
David and I believe very strongly in the Ronald McDonald House. Having two daughters of our own, we understand the love and concern when our children are sick. Getting them the best health care and being close to them during the healing process is all parents want to do for their children.
